T. M. Murphy’s well crafted, kid friendly story, along with Adam Taylor’s
colorful artwork take the reader along
on eight-year-old Ryder Ferris’s incredible adventure, which begins
when Ryder travels to Cape Cod to visit his
Uncle Ted, a children’s book author who is suffering from Writer's Block.
Ryder wants to help Uncle Ted find a
good story to write and what he uncovers is one of the last untold Christmas
tales. The story unfolds when Ryder
discovers two Seals named Zander and Bob who have been captured and brought
to the local aquarium owned by
the evil Dr. Gloomsday. Why have they been caught? The greedy Dr. Gloomsday
knows that every Christmas Eve,
Zander and Bob lead the way, along with the other seals and Santa’s
Ocean Elves who are in charge of carrying
magical toy bags underwater through the Christmas Caves which lead to different
secret locations all over the
world. It is at these locations where they leave the bags so Santa can reload
his sleigh. Dr. Gloomsday can now
force Zandra and Bob to lead him to the Christmas Caves. Once there, he can
steal the very valuable Oyster Pearls,
which open up their shells allowing their beautiful pearls to illuminate the
caves waterways for safe travel by the
seals and their ocean elf helpers. It is up to Ryder, Uncle Ted, O'Nel the
Jamaican Ice Cream Man, and sea captain
Salty Sam to rescue Zander and Bob, save Christmas and also protect the pearls
